I have a 1997 Volkswagen Jetta that starts and stops when the key is released.

A 1997 Jetta Starts and when the key is released it stops. The Engine stops running. While the key is being inserted to start, a bell dings and warns that there is something going on. Is this why the Car stops when the key is released.
