I have a 1999 dodge neon and i have a short air intake to install but im not sure how to do so?

  1. That depends on which version you have.  For a Kirk ( which is the only true short air intake ), you have to relocate the battery to the trunk and the filter goes over the old battery area.

    There are also various Ebay type of air intakes.  One has the tube going to the back and places the filter between the engine and the firewall.  You have to remove the stock airbox to fit this type of intake and this is the worst design as it sits directly above the exhaust manifold and ends up sucking in the heat from the the exhaust.  There is another design which is a very similar idea but the filter instead goes below the brake booster.  

    If you've managed to get your hands on an Iceman intake ( give yourself a pat on the back as this is generally regarded as the best system but they are difficult to get a hold of these days as they are not longer made ), that intake tube snakes down between the aux. fan and the battery ( you do however, require the Iceman battery relocation tray to do this or cut a corner piece out of the original tray ) and goes in front of the transaxle ( if you have a manual, if you have the larger auto transmission, you have to cut a portion of the bottom of the tube off to make it fit ).
