  1. we have 3 dogs and one is really hyper.  she likes chaising the cats out of fun.   id just keep my eye on them when theyre together.  they might actually end up liking each other.

  2. Wouldn't it be cool if puppies were that easy to train too? Yea right..... I defiantly wouldn't separate them or your big lab baby will retaliate and use your table legs, couch, carpet and anything else he can get close to to remind you "he is in the house too"! If you catch my drift. They'll be fine...... toss em together and let it happen naturally...... the kitty WILL show off it's special little defense system if need be. And it wont take long before the two are sleeping together in the corner. Heck, I had the exact same situation about three months ago and now I have the problem of the kitty suckling on my dog......... they'll be fine....... enjoy!!

  3. You need to train your lab to be gentle with the kitten.  As the kitten grows it will train your lab too.

    good luck.

  4. labs are great and dont usaully chase things because its not what they were bread for.

if you had a lurcher or something it may be more of a problem but it will be more like the kitten will be afraid of the lab.

just hold the kitten while you introduce them and gradully go from there.

    good luck.

  5. At 7 weeks you should be able to tell the s*x of your baby by lifting up its tail and looking for tiny testes! Introduce the cat to your lab slowly, holding the cat and letting the dog sniff it. You may want to keep the baby in your bedroom with the door closed for a few days. You may also be surprised at how well the dog responds, and/or how well even a small kitten can defend itself. Good Luck!

  6. Something I've always done when introducing a new dog (or pet) to another dog of mine is holding the puppy in my arms, sitting on the floor and allowing the older dog to come up, smell the puppy and check it out. I speak in a soothing voice to both dogs and create a calm atmosphere. Once the dogs have smelled one another, I put the puppy next to me or in front of me and then allow the older dog to approach it on its own terms as long as its not immediately rough with the puppy. Your dog will be excited to meet and play with your kitten and there's no harm in this, you just must be calm and gentle with both animals.
