I have got F1 (student) visa for 2 years only. My course completes in less than 2 years . how can i extend my student visa?

Do i have to extend my course curriculum?

Can i go for visa stamping if i provide sufficient documents proving that my course doesnot complete within 2 years ?

can i go for stamping before my visa expires that is my visa expires on june 2009 so can i go now ie dec 2008

  1. There is no extensions of a student visa nor are visas applied for from within the United States.

    It is the date on your I-20 that determines your legality in the U.S. What is the end date on your I-20? If you wish to stay longer then you need to speak with your international student advisor and talk about further studies.


  2. Oh, I've been wondering the exact same thing. I'm actually pending for a green card but I don't know if it's going to work out. My cousins who live in the US once told me the only way you can extend a student visa is by applying for a new program or getting yourself a permanent residency so you have the legal rights to work there.
