I have a 2000 Acura Integra - Help me find a rack for my Kayak?

Question

I have a 2000 Acura Integra w/ a sunroof. I need to find a roof rack system to fit so i can carry my kayak. Any suggestions?

also, I know nothing about rack systems. How do they attach to the car? Who can I get to install them?

Hi CoCoKauai,

The most common rack my buddies use is the Thule rack. It has towers (for stacking lots of boats, our record is six boats on one car), rollers for big boats (for ease of rolling a big boat on and off), and custom saddles for the delicate expensive boats. You can also buy custom parts for cargo shells and bicycle transport. The system is extremely versatile, and very common, so you can get parts for it anywhere. REI carries it, and there's plenty of parts on Ebay and Craig's list.

As far as installation goes, they have different types of mounts for different cars.  The easiest type clamps onto the rain guard flashing, or you can mount it directly onto the roof.  Installation is fairly easy if you have a s***w gun and some basic tools.  Heck, I'll install it for you, if you give me a couple of beers (I'm teasing, most anyone can install it for you).
