I have a 2000 Chevi Silvarado z71 need help?

my truck is having trouble starting. it takes maybe two or three times every time i need to go anywhere. it is not the batter i know for sure. well it has been doing this for three weeks but now the gas needle is all the way to empty and the truck is full!! does anyone know what could be going on? and are their any recalls you know of on this truck?

  1. Mine did the same thing both my fuel filter and injectors were clogged and it was struggling for gas


  2. First, the gas gauge problem would be the actual sensor which is located in the tank. It probably has a voltage problem and will need to be replaced.

    As for the starting problem it could be the starter going bad. If your truck has a lot of miles on it then that would be the first thing I would look at.

    You can get both of these at the local auto parts store or take it to a mechanic and have it diagnosed and fixed.


  3. It may be the trucks computer system going bad.  To know for sure, take it to your local Chevy dealer & have them run diagnostics on it.
