I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I think it's leaking a/c fluid in the inside of my car?

The passenger floorboard is becoming soaked and it's coming from underneath the carpet. Any ideas what it could be? And how to fix? Also it doesn't smell too nice!

  1. It's actually your heater core leaking anti-freeze. so your car is losing necessary coolant, and will begin running hot, you should get this repaired right away.   You could try a off the shelf radiator stop leak available at your local auto parts store.

  2. Not a/c fluid as it is only fluid under pressure and a gas at atmospheric. Most likely your heater core is leaking anti freeze, Mop some up with a paper towel and look at the color, if it is greenish and has a sickly sweet odor to it, get to a repair shop asap.

    Good luck!

  3. The heater core is leaking and on the 4.0 engine the cost will be 6.0 hours labor, the heater core will be around $100.00, freon, oil, o-rings and antifreeze will be around $85.00.

It will be the same for the 4.7 engine, so a ballpark price will be around $675.00 plus tax............

  4. it could be the ac drain hose or the heater core is leaking.

  5. if it smells sweet it's anti-freeze.

  6. it's probably not A/C "fluid". but could be engine coolant from a leaking heater core. If that's the case, that could be big trouble and needs to be looked at right away. At least to determine what it is. Don't drive the car if it's starting to overheat!
