  1. Ok Carfax.com (usually way WAY off) and sometimes you can get your insurance company to run a check to see if any work has been done that an insurance company has paid for.

The fact is paper trails and information about a cars past is a pointless persuit.  A car is based on its current condition.  Not what was done in the past.  The only time past paper work is of any real use is if a repair was done that failed prematurely and having the receipt helps in getting it done again for free but no guarantee it will be done right that time either. And naturally new parts fail and its not the problem of the shop.

The only true way to judge a car that you know nothing about its history is a good once over inspection.  In fact I recommend getting a used car inspected not once but twice by two shops.  Never just buy a "certified" pre-owned car from the dealer.  That's what we call the fox watching the hen house..

  2. You should ask the dealer or individual you purchased the car from if they kept a vehicle maintenance manuel or receipts for work done on the car.

  3. check your dealer, if you car has been service by the dealer, they will have the records in a central database.

they should not charge you for it.

ofcourse its not comprehensive, say, if the oil change was done by an independent, there may not be any record of it.  this is one good reason why you should have your car serviced at the dealer.  its shows prospective buyers the car was serviced by a profesional in a timely manner.

  4. Way to re-enforce the stereo type of people who drive BMW's.

...are you from New Jersey? I have a sneaking suspicion you are....

  5. carfax.com

  6. Well there are no actual site to see all works been done on it, but if it's a Bimmer all you have to do is go to a BMW Dealer and with just your key they could run up everything that was done at the BMW Dealer...If your car was not maintenance at the Dealer than Pretty much you are out of luck...Maybe Carfax might have those...not wuite sure on how details it is too...
