I have a 2001 rx seadoo i need to replace the piston rod?

i have the crankshaft out of the engine and i can't get the piston rod off the crankshaft and if u must know i know i have to b/c it has three inches of play in it if any body has an idea how to get please help

  1. the crankshaft has to be rebuilt, take it to a shop that fixes boat or snowmobile engines, they can most of the time, rebuild the crankshaft for you

    The crank pins are pressed together, the only way you will get the rod off without a press is with a torch(everything will be ruined then)


  2. If you have three inches of play, a rod ain't all you need!

    As the other guy said, those things are pressed apart, and together then must be trued with V blocks and dial indicators. If a rod "big end" has gone, there will probably be pin and main bearing damage as well. It is possible that there is some case warping too.
