  1. ok friend, if you have the clutch pulled in and it works (adjusted right) your problem will be a safety switch. alot of bikes today have a safety switch that wont allow you to put bike in gear if side stand (Kick stand) is down. check that switch, also make sure sidestand is up.

Now if you are talking about stalling (You put in gear and bike jumps fwd a little and stalls) you will need to adjust your clutch cable play.

  2. The one-way, or automatic clutch could be damaged.

Will it stall with the electric shift and/or the shift lever?

If only with the ES - that would narrow down the problem to electrical in nature.

If it stalls either way - jack up the quad to get the drive wheels off the ground and shift while the engine is running.

If no stall - look at the clutches.

Do what Mark said and raise the idle to see if that corrects the problem.

  3. On some Hondas, there is a safty switch on the kickstand, that if it becomes faulty could cause it to die.

  4. Ok first of all people, it doesnt have a clutch lever. It's semi-auto. And its a quad. You may want to replace the clutch in it though. Or idle problems/carb. Good luck...

  5. You may want to adjust the idle.  If my memory serves me right, the recon has an auto clutch.  You could spend a lot of time looking around for ways to adjust something that isn'tt there.  My guess is the idle is set too low, so when you engage the transmission it loads the engine past it's idle causing it to stall.  There should be two or three screws on the carb that stand out and don't look like they hold it together.  The easiest one to access should be the idle adjustment s***w.  Turn the bike on and keep it in neutral.  Turn the s***w in the direction that makes it run higher, and see if that works.
