Question:

I have a 2003 Chevy S10 2 wheel drive, 4.3 auto. What kind of mileage should I get? I'm getting about 17?

The truck has 24,000 miles on it.

  1. 17/24 is about the average, however if you are only getting 17 miles per gallon on the highway then my suggestion would be to take your lead foot off of the accelerator. That will increase your mileage back to the 23-24 miles per gallon range.

    I know, it isn't much fun but it does save on gas if you need too.


  2. Are you talking 17 in the city? That's about what my '95 gets. It gets about 23 - 24 on the highway. 139,000 miles.

  3. my s10 does about 15 city and 22 freeway so you are right in that normal range. it too has the 4.3 liter with an auto but it is four wheel drive with 127,000 miles
