I have 114k on it now and haven't changed the fluid since 30k. The transmission now slips and shifts on it's own. I only have driven it for 15 miles since this problem arose. Any ideas such as if an ATF change might remedy this problem. It seems fine when I first drive it for the first 4 miles, then acts up?

  1. Change the transmission oil.

It should have been changed long ago.

  2. You will have to have it checked out by a mechanic.  The fluid may be leaking out and some seals may be needed which can be fixed.  2003 Honda Accord "Great Car"...

  3. I reccommend taking it to a dealer or mechanic to see if you need a new transmission.  Honda doesnt have the best reputations when it comes to transmissions.  That is Honda's main problem - it has been unsolved for thirty years.
