  1. They make a slid for 6' bed for full size don't know about the Dakota>

  2. Because of the shorter bed, you are more likely to have contact between the trailer and the truck cab during a hard turn. You can't mount the hitch farther back because then the weight of the trailer tongue wont be in the proper spot in the bed.

    You have 3 solutions:

    1. Purchase the hitch anyway, and pay attention to any sharp corners and hope you don't forget.

    2. Fab up a new neck assembly on the trailer (from the trailer body to the kingpin). to move the trailer farther rearward. This may or may not work depending on the style used. On most, you can adjust the tongue height, this is where you would remove the neck, and install a longer neck, so your less likely to contact the truck cab. This link will show you some options:

    3. An automatic adjustable hitch called the SuperGlide.

  3. I==IF ALL THE MANUFACTURERS ARE SAYING " NO" ==THERE IS A REASON FOR IT==CALL A COUPLE OF THE MANUFACTURERS TO FIND OUT WHY=

  4. Six foot beds are too short for fifth wheel or goose neck trailers, cab damage and/or personal injury to a passenger could result during tight turns . . . . and believe me there will be tight turns involved!
