Question:

I have a 2006 Merc 90 4 stroke on my boat. it is sluggish on acelleration.can i use a fuel addative for this ?

since it is a 4 stroke I figure I can put something in but don"t want to risk damage.

  1. Mercury recomends that you use no additives, except stabilizer for prolonged periods of inactivity.  This motor should still be under warranty, take it to a dealer for diagnosis.


  2. You can a fuel additive to any four stroke engine. Just follow the directions on the package.

  3. look at plugs first
