I have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma, and need help choosing a better sounding stereo...?

I know very little about audio systems, however I love all kinds of music and want good sound in my truck. I was told the factory stereo/cd player is pretty good and I won't have to replace it to get better sound. The guy at the stereo store told me all I need is an amp and speaker behind my seat, (I'm short, there is lot's of room). Does that sound right? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try looking at crutchfield.com for configurations that will fit your truck. You don't have to buy from them, but their site is really good for building a system that is compatible with your vehicle. The best sound is going to come from replacing the speakers and deck but you will get pretty good sound from putting in an amp and speakers into your existing deck.
