I order the car and it is not here as yet, I am trying to find a way online to pull up the tahoe's color codes. Can someone give me a short cut on how to get access to these codes. Please don't tell me to contact the dealer or look in the door panel and get the code from there. Because of the situation I am not able to do neither of those things.

  1. Find a Tahoe the same color as yours and look in the glove box for the code.  If your truck is two tone then the first code is the top color and the second number is the bottom color.  If this is not possible then you will have to wait for your truck to arrive.

  2. Use the vin# and go to LMCTRUCK.com

Click on the online catalog for your year/model

About the 5th-8th page of their online catalog, in the index pages....it tells you what every number/letter in the VIN stands for. You'll get the color off that.

Remember - that's only the stock color. If the trucks been re-painted, you're outta luck.

(The color code is usually on a sticker in the glove box or on the kick panel near the fuse panel - not the door jamb.)

  3. The glove box has the RPO codes, some trucks have the codes in other places like the spare tire cover. The label is white with black letters and numbers. The paint and trim codes are usually the lower line of codes. Your local dealer parts department can help you and usually they will without any problem. They can look up the VIN and get the RPO codes through the GM vehicle information system if the label is missing or illegible.
