I have a 289 CI in my 66 musatng, what 5 speed could i put in it?

Which mustang years can I pull the 5 speed from? Obviouly I am asking because i can't afford a tremec. Only real answers please!

  1. 289/302, same block. Any newer 5 liter mustang tranny will bolt up at the bell housing, however a custom crossmember and drive shaft will have to be fabricated. With a little research you may find someone who's building some sort of kit.
