  1. Tetras are schooling fish and need to be kept in groups of 10, in your tank

you could have 25 that would look very nice.

They both like a ph of 6.0 - 8.0 so test your water.

  2. put in about 15 neons and add a little flavor by putting about 4 cories on the bottom. that would give you something to look at on all levels of your tank.

  3. after you buy the fish.put the bag floating and check if your betta starts to get mad.if he does don't put them in with the betta or your betta will kill them and eat them. You should buy about 5 first to see if your betta gets along with it and if it does get along then you could buy about 20 more.

  4. In your tank you could have easily 30 because some tetras produce little waste, but it depends on filtration.  Neons, Gold, cardinal all OK. It be boring to put all one type so advise you to have diversity.  Honestly you could have 50 in there, but you would need a very good filter(s) and be very dedicated, but I have seen it work with only like 5 deaths in a year plus it looked awesome.  I know this because my uncle had 60 guppies in his 30 gallon, had great filtration like 2 aquaclear 50's, and guppies produce more waste than neons/golds/cardinals.  He also taught me to never ever use the inch rule cuz it never works on really small fish or bigger fish

  5. I would say 10-15.

  6. Neons in a 29gal... LOTS.

I would suggest about 20, but dont add them all in one go if the tank is only housing a betta right now. Add them six at time each week to build up the numbers. Neons are small, so each one only add a small bioload to the tank, but in a larger tank you want lots of them for effect. Six of them will just hang out in a corner and the tank still looks empty.

That will still give you space for a few bottom feeders like some cory cats, Otos or a small pleco species.

  7. I would say about 12 tetras.

Make sure your betta gets along with them though! Some bettas will be agressive toawrds them.
