I have a 2yr. old Maytag Frig.,freezer on top.I cannotget a stable freezing temp. I can set, with the setting control, readings of 4 or 7 with no effect on the actual temp. I bought a freezer thermometer to verify this problem. The lowest reading has been 10 above by vastly reducing or rearranging food positions. Some so called experts claim that Ideal temp. should be between 5 below & 5 above. Soft Ice Cream has been the result of the problem.
