I am concerned as she eats very well and is very active (goes to kinder 2 times week, calsithenics and swimming). Should I be worried? I have a 7 year old twin boy who weights a kilo less than her, (mind you, he was prem, and is very short for his age). She eats well, not large proportions, mostly fruit grazing, and only water for drinks. She only has about a cup of milk a day, and has a treat of rice crackers once a day, sweet biscuit once a week. Has junk food about once a fortnight or month.

I have two kids who basically eats same foods (my daughter probably eats healthier foods) but one has trouble putting on weight and my daughter is heavy weight 'solid'.

Any suggestions?

  1. never compare your children.   a healthy diet with lotsa exercise is important.  consult the pediatrician for your concerns.

  2. My son is 4 and he is just a little bigger than your daughter. I have had repeated apps with his doctor, and he's just fine! I call him my baby Moose! If you or her dad are tall, that's all it is. I'm only 5'2" and he's 6'2" so my baby is gonna be big. I think it's wonderful. Enjoy your "baby"!
