  1. An electric dryer should be 220v. you're gonna have to change either the cord or the receptacle. There is no adapter for it. 3 prong in this case means straight 220v, the 4 prong plug that you have on the wall is for 220/120 machines. The correct power is there you just have to choose wich on to replace. the cord or the wall plug.

  2. Go to Home depot ( or simillar) tell them what type of dryer you have (brand and model) THen ask for the right cord.

  3. Just change out the cord on your dryer.  It is alot easier and less work.  You can get the new cord at Home Depot for around $14.  We just had to do this with our new house.

  4. Very easy to replace the cord, litterally takes more time to rehook up the dry vent than to change the cord.  We seem to have to switch back and forth each time we move.  Mostly depends on the age of the house on which plug you will have.

  5. you can buy a 4 prong cord and put it on your dryer . there will be two grounds on the 4 prong cord and you just secure them at the same s***w.

  6. If you go to your local hardware store, they should have it in the electrical area.

  7. Easiest would be to replace the pigtail from dryer. The 4 wire configuration is usually found in mobile or modular homes to meet different codes. The red and black wires will go to the studs marked as "line or load" the white will go to the other stud while the green or bare wire will go to a green s***w to ground the dryer housing.
