I have a 3 y/o 52" Toshiba that says HDTV Monitor but not HD Ready. Does that matter? I want to upgrade?

I want to upgrade from regular to HD and my tv says HDTV Monitor. Does that mean is all I need is a new dish and HD receiver from the satilite company or do I need more products/installation? What's the difference between HDTV and HDTV Ready? Anything?
