I have a 32" CRT Sanyo TV, with component?

This tv has video 1, video 2, and component input. The RCA jacks on the back are (2) yellow white and red A/V inputs, and it has one set off green, blue, red hookups. I don't believe this tv is HD, so what are those used for and can I use them to get a better picutre? I have an xbox 360 with component cord and my surround sound/dvd system has progressive outputs with the same colors.

  1. The component inputs (red, green, blue) is digital, so it will give you a better picture. Use the component cord that came with the xbox 360. Those red, green, blue wires are for the digital video, and you'll see a more sharper and clearer pic. Just follow the color scheme when connecting and make sure you switch the input source over to "component" to play the game.

    Hope this helps

  2. You have a newer television it sounds like.  Most CRT's only have a resolution of 480i.  Your tv sounds like it might be capable of producing 480p (way better) via the component cables.

Another possibility is that your television is a ED (enhance def.) television which produces resolutions in the 500 pixel range.

    Just try it and see.
