  1. contact the board of education or the autism foundation.  There are a lot of programs to help

  2. Yes check with the hospital near him.they can

guide you where to look and who to see.

I DO WISH ALL THE LUCK THERE IS.

We need to help and care for those who cain.t.

But as parents and adults,we need to find

a medium where we can function in our lives

with the freedom ,we need to maintain our

    sanity and well being

  3. You can also contact your state Department of Education and/or your state Department of Health Services!

    Best of luck to you!

  4. Contact you local School Board and assistance programs.

  5. I always suggest

    the department of health

    local school district

local autism society of america group

Those three will be able to direct you to educational assistance, medical and financial assistance as well as personal and emotional support.

Good luck. I have two with autism, and it can be some work!

  6. Check with your local school district's department of special education.

  7. Therapy could do wonders for him.  I am a student clinician is Speech Pathology, and I have worked with several children with autism.  Parents are amazed at the difference it makes in their children.  To what degree is his autism?  If you have a college near you that has a clinic in speech, occupational, etc therapy usually you can get them in for a very small fee (and sometimes the fee is waived).  The college I attend charges $200.00 for a semester of therapy.  Also, talk to your doctor, and he may be able to refer you to someone who can help.

  8. Check into a local Autism Society Chapter, since it is ran by parents and professionals, it is a great place to get available resources in your area and a great place for support for you and your son. If you go to the ASA (Autism Society of America) they have a search engine called Autism Source that you can search by location for many types of service providers, ASA Chapters, support groups, medical professionals (physicians, psychologists, speech, occupational and behavioral therapists), educational facilities, legal services, government agencies, research centers, camps, training programs and much more.

I highly suggest looking into a local CARD (Center For Autism and Related Diseases) facility (look into local universities).  Once you enter your son into their database and you attend an orientation, they have superb services to offer. They will come to your house and work on different techniques not only with your son but anyone else in your family. They will also go to his school and work with any childern in his class and any teachers/assistants that work with your child. They also hold classes from behavior basics1 & 2, potty training, feeding issues, adulthood transition; IEP's & IDEA, among many other helpful courses..the best part it's all provided at no charge. Once in a great while they may have a special class that will require a fee, but that is not very often.

  12. The first port of call I can think of is your sons school/nursery .If no joy there I would ask your local Education authority. Hope this is of some use4

  13. honestly , although it might sound strange , maybe you should watch wrestling with him (yes wrestling) like wwe . the reason i say that is because wrestling like with their story lines can show him the difference between good guys and bad , he could get their toys and learn all of the wrestlers names , and it could help with his social skills and if you dont belive me ill give you the site.and if that site doesn't work just type in autism on their search engine.good luck and i wish you and your boy all the best. ps its donohue.
