I have a 42 in sanyo tv and there is a red tint to it in dark pictures, how can i fix it? tried adj. color?

Its a HD flat screentv. My friend has the same tv and hers is not like it. to late to take it back. been like this since we had it (december) couldnt get my hubby to help me gert it back. there is diaginol red lines in some pictures and in other channals their face a a tint to it. im used to it unless i go to someone elses house and see their tv. what can i do??

This sounds like a rear projection CRT type set. If so, the red picture tube is probably going defective. I am assuming that since it is less than one year old, it must still be under warr. I'd get it checked soon before it's too late. Sometimes this issue can be compensted for by turning down the red screen control just a little bit until the diagonal lines dissapear.
