I have a 5.1 surround sound system, but I am moving into a house with a Tile living room floor. What do I do?

The home is prewired for surround sound through ceiling speaker mounts but my subwoofer would be so far away from the hookup that I don't want wires running on the floor. Is a bose 3 2 1 II series a good replacement since there are no wires running to the back of the system? Any other ideas on how to fix this problem?

  1. Can you run the sub wire under your floor? You'd have to drill a hole in tile, but if it's going to be in a corner or right next to the wall, it probably won't be a big deal since the hole wouldn't need to be that big. You'd of course have to drill another hole at the sub. Then, just run the wire under the house. this is assuming you have a house with a crawl space that you can get into.

  2. Yes first check out the 2008 CES consumer electronic show there are quite a few wirelss speakers and subwoofers coming out that might help you. THE links below are for some that came out in 2007 but itll give you another option. Bose is not a good replacement for a 5.1 surround sound, lol

  3. Yeah, sounds like your whole system will be pretty much useless. You should just send me your 5.1 system and I'll take care of it...;)
