  1. It's pretty normal for babies this age to still be waking at night for feeds, and adding solids doesn't usually make any difference. (Bbyfood contains very few calories, not enoough to make much difference in baby's food intake.)

Rather than increasing the solids (which he really doesn't need yet), I'd try offering more milk during the day.  If he gets enough formula, he may be willing/able to go a bit longer at night. But if he still needs to eat at night, you'll just have to wait until he's ready to sleep longer.

  2. for goodness sake why are some people so patronising??

Anyway try putting him to bed later with more milk than usual. If it doesn't work he will eventually sleep through in his own time.Have you seen the new bedtime milk  my baby is 6 months and I find that great. My baby has a bottle and porridge and for lunch a bottle and a jar and tea a bottle and a jar and bedtime milk.He has been on solids from 4 months starting with baby rice.

You could also try a bit of baby rice before his bottle it's worth a try.

All babies are different and every mother knows best for her own.
