  1. My first question would be a safety issue - if it has an air bag - it's a very bad idea.

The law states that children under a certain age (depending on the state) must sit in the back seat. If there is no back seat - then legally there is no law broken. If that were the case, you couldn't drive your kids around in a truck!

  2. THIS IS PERFECTLY LEGAL.  As far as the airbag, it's not required to be deactivated, but recommended for safety reasons. For more information regarding child restraint laws in your state see the following link: http://www.iihs.org/laws/ChildRestraint....

You'll see that states that don't allow children in the front seat note: 5 years and younger must be in rear seat IF AVAILABLE.

Therefore, if it's a two seater, no problem!

  3. In California, it is against the law for the 5 year old to sit in the front seat of any car

  4. Hey Britney!  How ya doin'?  Check the laws of your state.   They vary.  But, let me just say, it's a bad idea for just so many reasons.  Children under 60 lbs. in the front seat is not a good idea.  Is there an airbag in the passenger side?  That can kill your child.

  5. I think in most states you have to be over 80 lbs.

  6. 1. BEFORE YOUR FIRST BIRTHDAY LESS THAN 20 POUNDS REAR-FACING INFANT-ONLY CAR SEAT OR CONVERTIBLE SEAT USED IN REAR-FACING POSITION, SECURED IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE CAR.

    2. 20–35 POUNDS CONVERTIBLE SEAT USED IN REAR-FACING POSITION, SECURED IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE CAR. LOOK FOR A CHILD SAFETY SEAT THAT IS RECOMMENDED FOR HEAVIER INFANTS.

    3. WHEN YOU ARE 1, 2, 3, AND 4 20–40 POUNDS FACE FORWARD IN A CONVERTIBLE SEAT OR A FORWARD-FACING-ONLY SEAT OR HIGH-BACK BOOSTER/HARNESS IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE CAR.

    4. WHEN YOU ARE 4, 5, 6, 7, OR 8 LESS THAN 4’9” (57 INCHES) TALL BELT-POSITIONING BOOSTER SEAT (NO BACK) OR HIGH-BACK BELT-POSITIONING BOOSTER SEAT IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE CAR.

    5. WHEN YOU ARE 8, 9, 10, 11, OR 12 MORE THAN 4’9” (57 INCHES) TALL MAY USE AN ADULT SEATBELT, BUT MUST KEEP YOUR BACK AGAINST THE SEAT BACK, YOUR KNEES BENT OVER THE EDGE OF THE SEAT, AND YOUR FEET FLAT ON THE FLOOR IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE CAR.

    6. WHEN YOU ARE MORE THAN 12 YEARS OLD MORE THAN 4’9” (57 INCHES) TALL MAY SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OF THE CAR WITH AN ADULT SEATBELT.
