  1. A 2 LITRE ENGINE AND FOUR WHEEL DRIVE FOR ACCESSING THE SLIPS

  2. Most Half-ton V-8s will do it...not small displacement V-8s, but 350s or bigger.  The ultimate towing capacity depends on the transmission and the rear axle gear ratio. So be certain before you cook a transmission. You should be able to find a towing capacity chart  or comparison online. Or ask a service department.

You def. do not need a diesel but one would handle it no probs.

Remember in most places you will be restricted to 8' overall width and a max height of 13' 6" .

    Good luck

  3. any full size should do the trick..without a problem...

  4. 1/2 TON truck will have issues as the tongue weight will be to much & there cap is around 6500 lbs>No small truck can do this as if you try to launch it you will get wet>Full size 3/4 ton truck>

  5. If you want a tow vehicle, you DO want a diesel.

  6. You would be fine with a F-150, Silverado/Sierra, Tundra, Titan, Ram, Ridgeline.

  7. Full size, half ton or better.

  8. That 6500lb boat plus 75-100 gallons of gas, plus 20 gallons of fresh water plus trailer probably weighs more than 8500lbs total. Don't forget ice chest, fishing gear, and the rest of your junk.   I have a similar size boat.

A 1/2 ton will not pull this boat safley.  It probably has a 1000lb tounge weight.

You will at the minimum need a 3/4 ton with a 300-400cc engine.  This is what I used to tow with and it worked, but not very well.  Going up any small hill I would be doing 40-45.  I couldn't even make it up a large hill.  My trany would stink by the the time I got the boat home from working it to hard.

I just bought a Silverado 2500HD 4x4 with the 6.6L Duramax Diesel.  I can hardly tell its back there.  It's worth getting the bigger truck.  You won't be worrying about it the entire trip.

You don't have to have 4WD but it helps.  My old truck was 2WD and I made it work. 4WD is for wimps, which I am one now:)

You can get them used for a good price and the diesel will last a long time.

  9. You are going to be towing a Big Boat so your option;s are 3/4 ton at least. V8 or V12  and because some Boat ramp;s are steeper then other;s you will need to get it up and out of the water I would suggest a 4X4, do your self a favor and go over kill, better to have to much.

  10. any,good 3/4 ton or i ton pickup,definetly not a job for f150 chev 1500,and for in and out at the landing i'd want 4 wheel drive,u ain't got to have a dooley,but at least a 3/4 with single rear wheel's,and 4x4

  11. If yor trailer is 6500lbs you want your truck to be able to pull 7500 + lbs

  12. ANY AMERICAN 3/4 TON AND UP , MAYBE EVEN A DUALLY . BUT MAKE SURE YOU GET A GOOD MOTOR LIKE A HEMI . OR YOU COULD GET A CUMMINS , OR A HEMI , YOU COULD ALSO GET A DODGE WITH A HEMI , IT WILL PULL THE WORLD OFF ITS AXIS !
