  1. Yea mate, there is heaps of time. Go for a cruise into town for a couple of hours. You will have a blast!

  2. Windsor Castle is probably a good idea. Be mindful that the cab ride will probably be very expensive.  But you will love the trip!

  3. It's tricky.

40 minutes to clear customs and get into the country.

30 minutes to catch the Heathrow express and get to Paddington station - assuming it's running on time and at speed.

40 minutes to get from Paddington Station to somewhere interesting like Trafalgar Square or Westminster.

You're just under 2 hours in, it's going to take you 3 hours to get back to the airport and through customs and into the waiting lounge 90 minutes before your flight (assuming its long haul) and I've left no time for problems or delays of any kind.  You have 1 hour wherever you end up at the most, and you're risking missing your flight if you don't get back in time.

My advice : stay at the airport.  Next time you come through, give yourself a day at the very least.

Perhaps another option, if you're not there during rush hour, would be to hop a cab and go see Windsor, which is 25 minutes drive away and very nice indeed.  Make sure you reserve a cab for the return journey as well.

  4. I would recommend going to Windsor or Eton as both are quite close and quite nice places!
