I have a 7 month old baby iguana and he likes boiled eggs.are they good for him?

also i would like to know what i can give him for calcium?my iguana likes to eat green beans,carrots,fresh green spinach.can he have small pieces of cheese?please email me your answers too:autumnday67@yahoo.com

  1. Boiled eggs are a good source of protein. You could try crushing up some of the shells from the boiled eggs to see if he's interested - this would be a great source of calcium.


  2. no boiled eggs aren't good for him, neither is cheese.. h**l spinach is high in oxalates an d phytates and it binds calcium. So your iguana is lacking in calcium and could get MBD. You need to feed:

    Collard greens, turnip greens, mustard greens, dandelion greens (with flowers, minus pesticides and lawn treatments), escarole, water cress, orange-fleshed squashes (butternut, Kabocha), snap or snow peas, parsnip, asparagus, okra, alfalfa (mature, not sprouts), onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, sweet potato, zucchini, yellow squash, and carrots.

    You need to pick a few from this list, and change it up every few days so he gets necessary calcium. Also the right UVA and UVB lights should be used so he can absorb the vitamins in his diet.
