  1. I Have owned themmy hole life. if hes chewing he need to be detered from it.. a spray bottle with some hot sauce and vinegar works.if he chews on something spray him in the mouth tell him no. and the object he wants to chew on once he gets the taste he wont like it.and if what he wants to chew on has the smell he wont touch it   it will work .as far as chewing on people or anything get a pepsi can put some pennies in it and everytime he tries tobite tellhim NO. and shake the can of pennies ..they dislike the sound ive used this method along time and it works well be stern with him rotties are known to try to be the dominate one which u cannot let him..u must be the packleader..dont let him or he ron furniture or allow him to be near when your eating if youlet them do this they consider them selfs the packleader .which is a no no for rotties..be firm and stick to it no..awww i feel bad forhim thats what he wants..hope i helped some steve

  2. Growling has nothing to do with teething. Neutering is not a guarantee to reduce aggression.

Sounds like you need to find a new trainer that can actually help you with an aggression problem.

  3. It sounds as though your dog has decided that he is the alpha. This is not a good thing. He needs to feel at all times that you and other humans in your family are the alphas in the pack or he will not listen and will do what he wants.

If he bites or growls, pinch the scruff of his neck and give him a loud no. You cannot be intimidated by him. He needs to be intimidated by you. If the scruff doesn't work, you can also try pushing him down to the floor and holding him there while looking him straight in the eye with an unhappy look on your face.

While these are ways to discourage him from the behavior you don't like, it is also important to encourage him with lots of praise and petting for the things he does do right. Training a puppy or young dog is a lot of work. Good luck.

  4. You need to show more dominance with him, they are power breeds, take him for long walks..make sure he follows you and not pull you. following  is a practice to tell him you are in charge. If you stop..hes got to stop too, if he tends to walk forward too much to lead..just pull him back alittle..not too much to hurt him. As for biting people, thats bad..if he trys to bite someone quickly pin him down and put him to lay down for a while, until hes calm then let him up again.

  5. First off, please do not listen to the people who are telling you to push him down or grab his snout and hold it.  Dominance rolls should not be done unless you know how to do it properly (most do not).  Also, being physical like this can cause further problems and you don't want a full grown or semi full grown Rottweiler having enough of being pushed around.

For the biting, anytime the dog is playing with you or another human and his teeth touches your skin firmly say no and stop playing.  Put the dog into a sit or a down and ignore him for a few minutes.  We found this to be very effective with our now 9 month old Rottweiler.  It won't stop things right away, but if you are consistant it should work with the biting.  Finding a trainer who specializes in large/dominant dogs would be a huge asset!  We were lucky enough to find a trainer who had owned, trained and showed Rottweilers for almost 20 years.

The chewing is a normal dog/puppy thing.  You can try bitter apple spray, but you might want to buy the small bottle to start with.  Our Shiba hated the stuff, but our Rottweiler seems to like it.  Our trainer suggested using the original flavor or Listerine.  She said to spray some in his mouth and if he acts like he doesn't like the taste you can spray it on anything that he shouldn't chew, especially if he has tried to chew it.  Any time you find him chewing on something he shouldn't, give him a firm no and divert his attention to an appropriate chew toy.  Have a variety of different toys for him.  One that our Rottweiler likes is a two leiter pop bottle either empty or partially filled and frozen.  Both of our dogs loved "Chilly Bones" we found them at Petsmart.  They are a cloth bone that you soak with water and then freeze, it works in the same way as a child's teething toy in that the coldness soothes the gums.  Ice cubes are always a nice treat that is also soothing when they are teething and great to cool them off in the summer.

    Good luck!!!

  6. It's simple, when he snaps, grab his muzzle tight (don't hurt him, just be assertive), and stare him in the eyes until he won't look at you anymore.  It's a very simple domination technique that will teach him his place.

  7. Well, he is probably In Alot Of Pain... You Should Get Some Baby Teething Rings Or Some Bones... It Should Ease The Pain And His Urge To Chew.

  8. for your furniture you could use no-chew spray at

as for people make sure every time he bites someone they yelp loudly and they ignore him. You also might want to socialize him more and get him neutered.
