I have a 7 year old cockatiel...?

hi!im new to owning a cockatiel...he was my aunt's befor he was mine...he really really likes the millet stuff but how much should he be given a day?or is that like an everyother day type treat.ive been just breaking off a 4-5 inch piece a day.it seems like he will eat all of it but not so much of his seed.ive also been tryin green beans, popcorn, bananas...but he looooves the millet.also, should i change/dump his seed daily?thanks for ur time, have a happy day!

  1. MIllet is like candy to them and if they get to much then they won't eat their seed with the vitamins in it. I have raised them from hatch lings  and the millet should be given about once a week. change his seed every other day. and his water.they love toast and celery tops pretzel's and cold cooked plain pasta and corn keep trying different things but no avacodo  or chocolate. make sure they get  a spritz of water every couple days they love it and it helps them preen.


  2. my two cockatiels also love it. i give them like two a day :]. idk if it matters how much you give it to him. mine still eat their regular food too.
