  1. Babies this age can eat pretty much what adults eat except for peanuts and honey.  Pickles won't hurt but they do have a lot of salt.  Just make sure that the foods aren't too high in sodium and fat and the baby should be fine.  On the other hand, the grandmother should respect the mother's wishes.

  2. Why aren't you in charge of what your baby eats? No, fried food isn't a good idea. Sugary food is bad too - your baby is growing and needs a healthy macrobiotic diet like everyone else, only simpler.

  3. I don't think an occasional pickle or fish stick will hurt the baby.  My kids ate from the table the majority of the time by that age.  As long as you feed nutritious foods as well, then you're okay.

  4. Koolaid isn't good because it is pure sugar!  Pickles are a vegetable and I am pretty sure it's fine, talk to her pediatrician about it and see what they say.  I know that it is alright to introduce solid foods into a bbaby'sdiet at 6 months and as long as your baby seems fine I am sure it is fine.  As for your grandmother, you should just be firm and say "this is MY child and I don't want you feeding that stuff to her, I want you to respect my rules when it comes to my child thank you."

  5. It seems your baby enjoys lots of variety. The trouble with giving her/him so many non-nutritious items is they are too full to eat what they SHOULD be getting. Pickles are not baby food. Fish sticks could have tiny bones. Kool Aid has way too much sugar. I fear you might be starting your baby off on a life of poor choices. She's your baby. Tell Grandmother you will not bring her around if she persists in feeding her junk. Does the child have teeth? If Grandmother won't stop when you ask her, you will have to separate her from her grandchild. Be sure that baby gets the milk and strained foods she needs. PLEASE make a change. (If she's not a girl, I apologize for the number of times I called her "She!")

  6. tell her to mind her business..you need to tell her that this is your baby and you don't want her to have these kinds of things yet....she is only 8 months old and fish sticks and Kool-Aid are not healthy at all for her....I have a 9 month old and haven't even given her any kinda meat at all yet let alone fish sticks....YUCK!!!  tell her if she wants her to try some food...give her some cut up cooked pasta, some cut steamed bites of carrots, or pieces of banana, my baby also really like those Gerber Puffs...

  7. Gerber baby food was not invented until 1928 . Before that babies ate table food..  However your grandmother should abide by your wishes. If you don't want the baby to eat table food then she needs to abide by that.

My children ate table food from the time they were six months old and beyond.

  8. dude, my baby had a pickle at 6 months and she looooved it. kool-aid, Id say no, its all sugar. contrary to popular belief, people food is ok for babies. but if you dont want her feeding the baby that stuff tell her, and dont let her be around the baby when you arent around

  9. No its fine really as long as she doesn't feed her anything that she cant chew or with bones in it, she should be fine, my daughter was l*****g steak sauce from her dads finger at two months old trust me its fine. I think the sooner kids get a taste for regular food the better. The only thing to watch out for is if, she gets diarrhea or starts to throw up after eating something, that may mean she is not ready to digest certain foods, but I'm pretty sure your grandmother has done this before, after all she is a GRANDMOTHER, she probably did the same thing to you and I'm sure your turned out ok. If all else fails consult a doctor to see what foods are ok to feed her at that age, and ask your mom to only feed her those foods. Good luck

  10. At that age she is ok with some table foods. Kool-aid, I am not a big fan of STILL. I would say ok for SOME table foods, dont be giving her like a steak to eat, if she can chew it, she is fine, but tell her you would rather her have juice or milk instead of kool-aid.
