  1. Is the carb a Holley or a Weber. If it's not one of those, it's a piece of c**p. If you're still running a factory carb, that's your problem. Time to upgrade to a better carb or Fuel Injection..

    Happy Trails!

  2. it has to do with the carb being to close to the intake fuel can spill onto the intake because of this and cause the jeep to catch fire you should defentley sell me the jeep before this happens

    ok enough bs

pull off your fuel line and using a inline pressure gage check the pressure

if that is good rebuild the carb(im guessing acceleratior pump)but it doesnt matter

the carb is probally just dirty

and yea go ahead and repleac the choke

for less then $609 you will be good for the next 5-10 years

it also might be a line or intake/carb gasket so replace them also another $15 tops

    goodluck

  3. Some decent advice here, but nothing relevant to your actual problem:

This is very common.   What is wrong is, your idle ports are stopped up.    Take out the idle screws, take a can of carb clean with a nozzle on it, and blow them out.

    Problem solved.

If you want to get a more semi-permanent solution, rebuild the carb, and install a new fuel filter.

But cleaing out the idle ports will stop it for awhile.

  4. could be a bad choke silonide. dirty fuel filter . or maybe you jiust need to adjust the idle set s***w .

  5. take the air filter off and look down the throat  of the carburetor  have someone push on the gas and if you hear squirt and see fuel squirting before u crank then cranking and look while he or she is cranking the motor if you see no fuel the check the fuel pump you can hear a fuel pump but it can still not  put out enough pressure to maintain the engine idle
