  1. the alternator wont drain a battery, you need to isolate the draw. this takes time and patience. you could remove a fuse to various circuits one at a time taking voltage drops from the battery as you do them if you should find one is significant this is likely the system to check. ps a bad cigarette lighter element can cause a bad draw so don't count out little things.

  2. there must be a short or something. is being left on to do this or they may be faulty wires. this could be given the year of the van. good luck finding the wire! this can be a ROYAL PAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. id take the van to an electrical shop and pay for them to figure out what is causing the draw. this is not a do it yourself project

  4. first you need to dermine if there is a draw. Unhook the neg terminal. Use a voltmeter or a test lite to jump the neg battery terminal to the neg wire. If it lites up there is a short. pull each fuse til the lite goes out.(openning door will lite the dome lite so you need to pull that fuse if you need the door open to check fuses) Thats the easy part. once u find the curcuit, now u need to find the short. If pulling the fuses doesnt turn off lite. you have to look under hood, like wires to starter, alt etc. Had same prob on a grand am< ended up being the altinator. Good luck
