  1. Actually I'd give the kitty wet food like 2-3 times a week and dry food the rest of the time.

  2. Cats self regulate with eating(unlike dogs), so as often as you want.

  3. I would just feed him/her once a day with dry food. Science Diet is great if you can get it. Occasionally give him/her wet food but I would stick to the dry food.

  4. Once a day.

I have a kitten, she has been with us for three months.

We feed her wet food once a day (but you have to mix it with dry food)

All in all she eats 2-3 times a day, the rest of the times dry food.

Do not stress if you forget to feed her/him the wet food once in a while. Dry food is good all the same but the variety is better.

Also, try not to let the kitten get over weight. Feed it adequate amounts of food and do not put in the next meal until the one before it has been cleared and at least an hour or so has passed since.

    Have fun, Kittens are awesome.

  5. If they do fine with dry food then do not feed your kitty wet food at all.  It is very bad for their teeth, and there is not health benefits at all in feeding them wet food.

As for a dry food feeding schedule....leave the dry food out so they can eat it whenever they want.  You should never limit their food before the 1st year.  After the 1st year you can get them on a good feeding schedule.

  6. while the kitten is still little you can give him a little bit of wet food every few days but otherwise use dry food. it is better to get them eating dry food young because wet food can sometimes give them diarrhea. dry food is cheaper, less messy, and better for them. its okay to give him the wet food for a little while longer, but eventually it will be much easier to just give him dry food and he will like it just as much.

  7. usually once a day at that age their very small and usually dont eat much

  8. Usually wet cat food is harmful for younger cats, It can ruin there teeth and is hard on there stomach I wouldn't feed it to you kitten everyday. Once in a while (3 times a week) put a little big on top on the dry food. but just keep feeding your get the dry food in the mean time

  9. Usually once..wet food can be harsh on them..like direah..and leave out a bowl of dry..

  10. I have a 14 week old kitten and feed her wet food twice a day. You should have dry food down all time so she can eat that when she get hungry. It your not sure it would be smart to ask your vet.

  11. 2 times a day, get small cans. Like everyone else said, dry food is best, and cheaper.

  12. I have 2 kittens and we feed them both half a can of food each day, in the morning and at night.

                                 Hope this helps

                                           Good luck

P.S   Leave out dry food all day.   ; )

  13. From what I know, You are not suppose to feed your kitty wet food if she can handle dry food. The wet food can cause problems with their teeth, and other health factors. So I would stay clear to it, if you have to do it, I would feed her a half a can mixed with dry food, and gradually wean her off of it..

  14. Speaking from the experience of several years in animal nutrition you can feed your cat exclusively canned food in 2-4 meals a day. Make sure you are feeding a high quality canned food (Instinct, Merrick, Wellness, Innova, EVO) as it will be higher in meat content, moisture and lower in carbs all of which are vitally important to your cat's health. Dry food, especially free fed, can cause weight gain, diabetes, chronic dehydration which leads to bladder crystals, stones and kidney failure and a myriad of other problems. Please feed your cat at least a daily meal of canned food and only meal feed the dry food and again ensure that the dry food is of the highst quality with plenty of meat and very little grains.

  15. We moved our bengals onto dried food at roughly 6 months on the advice of the vet. Before that we were feeding them on raw chicken and cooked white fish. We still did and do feed the white fish on occasion as a treat but the vet recommended dry food is better as it's good for their teeth although it can dehydrate at first so mixing it up in the transition period can't hurt. Go for high quality dried food though, ours prefer Purina over Royal Canin... I've no idea why but I'm happy to take their lead!

When we've fed them tinned or packet wet food we have found that they get an upset stomach. If you want to feed them fish ensure it's properly cooked as uncooked fish can make them really sick, steer clear of tuna and look to the freezer section of your supermarket for a cheap and environmentally sustainable alternative to fresh fish.
