  1. She is still a puppy and just like a baby. She has teeth coming in so thats what she wants to do. All u kan do is what u have been doin. Have start getting used to ur commands now so she wont keep the same habits as she gets older.

  2. nope, thats all you can do, and it will last for weeks-months.

ALL puppies mouth and bite on hands, and you have to teach them not to. it takes time.

stock up on the band-aids. that is part of owning a small puppy.

  3. No you're doing everything right. Just make sure she always has something to chew. A good idea is also to buy those dog treats that are good for her teeth.

Just tell her no and tap her on the nose, she'll soon get the idea.

Just wait until her baby teeth start falling out, ya find them all over the house!

    Good luck!

  4. rawhide chey toys and baby dog toys, she is a baby till a yr and still up to 16 months. They are going to bite all babies do!

  5. Thats about all you can do, keep correcting her and give her a raw hide or something

  6. According To victoria stillwell (sp)   * a dog trainer* You can also "yip" like a littermate would when play is too rough. This lets them know that "ouch! that hurt!"

Redirect them with a toy .

Or simply stop play, cross your arms and turn your back.

  7. Yes you should not let her bite.  Especially this breed, she needs to learn NOT to bite.  She may be teething, or whatever everyone else said, but that is no excuse to let her just bite a human.

Dogs are pack animals and they establish a pack order.  In this case you and your family members are her pack.  If she were in a pack of other dogs, every time she bit one of them they would grab her nose or scruff of her neck with their own teeth and make her submit to them.  You being human, it isn't really normal to grab her with your mouth so.............every time she bites or nips or even growls at you or anyone in your family, immediately you need to take ahold of her muzzle with your hand and firmly hold on to her.  At the same time say NO in a very low, loud voice until she submits to you  - wines and lowers her head.  If she growls at you or acts like she wants to play you need to apply more pressure (squeeze) until she does submit.  It is really important to not let go until she submits to you.  Otherwise if you let go before she submits, while she is growling or trying to get away, all you are teaching her is that SHE is the dominant one and the bad habit of biting will get worse.  If you are afraid to grab her muzzle, then grab the scruff of her neck and do the same thing.  I know it sounds mean to some people, but this is exactly what their mom and other adult, dominant dogs would do to her to teach her that she needs to submit to them and that the biting will not be tolerated.  Also, I need to add, you don't need to squeeze so hard that it hurts her, just enough to get her attention.  And - never do this with an adult dog or an aggressive dog that you can't control.  You could get seriously bitten or attacked.  But with pups it works very well to teach them submissiveness.

  8. My dog used to bite me all the time. i even bled twice.

Well, yes u should give her chew toys.

Since she's 9 weeks old, it might be a little bit hard to train her now than when she was younger.

For her to stop biting up people and objects(that can harm her), you must scold her every time.

Try to do this because she might grow up to be an aggressive dog.

  9. She is most likely teething.  This is a good opportunity to begin her training.  Make sure she has access to toys she can chew on and start teaching her what she can and can't chew.

  10. All puppies do this. She is teething, gently push her away and tell her no. It probably wont work, but she'll grow out of it.

  11. Biting, even for play, in a large and notoriously aggressive breed like a Pit should be discouraged from day one. Good for you for recognizing that and starting to work on it while she's young. What sometimes seems cute and playful in a puppy can be frightening and even dangerous in a 100lb dog.

When she starts to bite, stop petting her. She will learn that biting deprives her of the attention she wants -- the petting. If she persists, the "muzzle handshake" is also a pain-free way to get your point across. Grab the dogs muzzle in your hand, and with your eyes close to hers say a firm "No!" as you "handshake" her muzzle. It's important that you do this as you would a handshake -- not a violent shake or anything that will hurt your dog. The range of motion is only a few inches, but the muzzle handshake, combined with the firm tone and the eye contact is very effective. Do not raise your voice or pinch the dog's muzzle.

Please get this dog into puppy obedience classes as soon as possible with a certified trainer -- not one from Petland or any retail store.  It will teach you great tools in controlling your pup, as well as socializing her with other people and animals.

  12. All puppy's bite. you just need to keep working with her and tell her with a firm voice (name) no bite this just takes time. She will learn you just have to  keep working with her. And never slap play with her your hands are not toys.

  13. Thats what all puppies do i guess cause i have a 8 month old Maltese [i got him when he was 1 month old] and he was doing the same thing and still is. I heard that all puppies do that and that the only thing you can do is give them a toy instead of your hand which is what your doing. Eventually she is going to stop.

  14. Your puppy is still teething and will chew on anything to relieve their gums. Buy some rawhide or buy a chew toy which is a tied up rope. soak the rope in water and put it in the freezer and then give it to your dog so when it chews on it, it relieves her gums.

  15. No, just correct her, cross your arms and turn around.  Also, if you are sitting, just stand up and do it.  Don't make eye contact, when she tries to be in-front of you or comes to your side and tries again, put your back to her (don't correct her then).  When she ignores you, calmly walk away.

  16. TO BEGAN ALL YOU JUST READ IS WRONG BUT NOT ALL WRONG

YES PUPPY DO BITE AN TEETH. puppies AN FULL GROWN YOU HAVE TO SET THE RULES. POP THE NOSE AND AND SIT HIM DOWN DON'T SAY NO JUST PUT YOU'RE HAND ON HIS NOSE OR HEAD AND MAKE HIM SIT.YOU ARE THE BOSS AND YOU HAVE TO BE FIRM AND NOT YELL

  17. before u pet here let her sniff your hand and if she moves backwards or leaves don't pet her but if she dose nothing u can pet her.
