The car wasn't driven everyday, but i have never had a problem like this. When it is put into gear the car jumps real bad and the clutch stays on the floor. I cant find where to put hydraulic fluid...don't know where to check if it is even low.please help!!

  1. There are several things that could case the pedal-to-the-floor condition -- hydraulic leak (master/slave cylinder), broken pressure plate, or a broken throwout arm.

My first guess would be the hydraulics - especially if you just hopped in the car and found the pedal to the floor.  The clutch hydraulics are fed by the brake reservoir.  How's your brake fluid level?  A full reservoir doesn't necessarily mean the clutch cylinders are good - it just means you don't have an open leak.  A bad master/slave cylinder seal would let the pedal drop without loosing any fluid.

Unfortunately, nothing in the clutch system is very accessible.  The master cylinder is behind the false firewall, and if that's more than your comfortable with, then it's time to call a tow truck, because everything else requires dropping the transmission.

Wish I had better news for you

Note: ignore BMWSGOD's suggestion, he obviously doesn't know Saab's- the clutch circuit on your 9000 is supplied by the brake reservoir.  His suggestion is likely to leave you stranded in traffic with no clutch and NO BRAKES

  2. you need a new clutch master or Prozac..  To save money check the fluid fill if needed and try pumping the petal by using your hand to pull it up and down.. You might get it to pump up just to get you to a shop...

  3. Please have the clutch and pressure plate checked and replaced if required.
