  1. Replace your fuel filter and check to see if there is water or rust in it. If water just add a 16 oz bottle of isopropal (clear)alchol to your gas. This will break up the water droplets and allow it to be burned with the gas.

  2. more likey it needs a bottle of fuel treatment and or a new fuel filter.. would be the first thing to try and cheap do it your self type job.... not sure why people think the fuel pump really they hardy ever go bad and if and when they do its pretty much dead and it dont work anymore so best bet woul dbe a bottle of fuel treatment for cleanning and water which is likey and a fuel filter .. which should be done once a year on filter and once evey few month with abottle of fuel treatment to keep  the fuel system it clean

  3. It isn't the fuel pump.....usually they just die period....and it isn't the alternator if the car starts up again after it stalls...

A common problem on the newer 3.8 engines is the cam position sensor failing which would cause that problem. I'm not sure which engine you have or if that year was equipped with one.

I would think this probably has more to do with fuel delivery (dirty injectors) or a large build up of corrosion inside the throttle body. Replacing the fuel filter might be a good idea too. Try running a can of BG 44k through your fuel system (you can get some on e-bay or a local retailer) and also buy throttle body cleaner spray...and blast the throttle body (with the engine running) with half a can of the stuff if you don't want to remove the throttle body and clean it by hand.

  4. could be. could be some other things too. check engine lt. on? ever came on, went off? and a fuel pump can and will do that if its on its way out. dead is dead.

  5. I have a 98 Buick century and my car jurks when it drives also it is that the torque converter in your transmission is going out. To fix this problem you have to get an entire transmisson rebiuld to fix the problem unfortunatley.witch costs around 2,000 dollars . I'm not sure why it would be stalling it could be something with the alternator  not recieving enough power to continue to keep your car going . If you go to a auto store they should be able to identify this problem very quickly usally for free also. I hope this helped  good luck i know its a pain in the butt,i'm doing the same thing too now.

  6. Check the fuel Pressure, and also check to see if there are any engine check codes stored. Another thing to do is also see how long has it been since the fuel filter has been replaced.

  7. I would try fuel filter first, if it was your fuel pump it wouldnt start, if it went out. Also check your plugs and wires, this will cause it to jerk and miss. Good luck.
