I have a 95 camry i was wondering...once the orange gas light comes on how many more miles can i go?

and how much gas is left in the tank? is there a definate amount of gas left in the tank once te orange light goes on?

I have a 96 modal Camry and it has lasted me about half an

hour with the light on (i havent tried it any further though) but once the light goes on you still have at least half an hour but i suggest you still fill up as soon as possible!!

why would you want to know this get fuel fast. the light is a warning and if you lite it run to low then you might walk but that would be the best if you let it run to low then you might burn out the fuel pump.then you have to replace the fuel pump and it is in the fuel tank. cost lots of money to replace with labor and pump not to mention the tow bill. smarter to just buy the fuel before the light ever comes on.

In most cars the light comes on with 1-1/2 to 2 gallons left in the tank. However, you do not want to suck the tank dry.  There will be a sediment and debris in the very bottom of the tank that will get sucked into the fuel line and filter clogging it up.  Always try to keep at least a 1/4 tank in your car.

LOL, try it and find out, but mostly they give you between 5 to 20 klms here in australia, I found out that my car when nearly chock a block goes 500 klms, who do I know this, went from townsville to richmond just coming up on the sign that state richmond 5 klms to go and no petrol left, was wondering why the car was slowing down lol, lucky for me had a 20 litre jerry can in the boot lol! :)

If it's the same as my 95 Camry LE V6, it will go on and off depending on the incline. Once you are quite low it will start

to ring. By then you've got about a gallon left which is about

20 average city miles left.  So, you will probably make it to

your local gas station, but why temp fate if you don't have to.

My Camry's fuel guage starts off slow, then when it hits 1/4 tank does a "B Line" to empty. Every once in a while I let that

light go on, but rarely let it get to the point of the "BELL RING".

It comes on when you have about 2 gallons left. Or 44 miles. Since your car is older and probably has quite a few miles on it it will be lower since you don't get as many miles to the gallon as a new car. I would only risk about 30 miles. which is about 40 minutes depending on how fast you drive. If you are driving in town this will be even less. Say, 25 to 30 mins?

Usually, the light comes on when you have a specific amount left.  In a lot of GM cars, it means you have two gallons.  I'm not sure about imports, but I'd imagine it's set up the same way.
