I have a 96 mustang 4.6 manual trans. I need to find something that would fit in its place. Recommendations?

My trans blew and I am having a hard time finding a 96 manual 4.6 to replace it. What other cars have that same trans that will drop in?

Your 96 has a 4.6L V-8, this has nothing to do with the transmission designation. You probably have a T-45 5speed in this car. When you say you  " blew your trans", did you break a gear, or a synchro ? This stuff can be repaired. If you broke a gear, you should be able to get the gear replaced and the whole trans rebushed for under a thousand bucks. It'll be like a new trans.

your mechanic just doesn't know how to fix it, all of those trans were easy repaired and cheap aslong as it didn't break the case take it to another shop the will do it and will cost less than a replacement trans
