I have a 97 VW GTI and it won't star. whats wrong with it?

i just put a new battery in and it started and ran fine. then i come back 3 days later and nothings working. it won't even make that crackling sound when i try to start it or anything. when i try to jump it the alarm goes off like crazy. please help!

Sounds like an electrical short somewhere that's draining

your battery.

You need to find it, or the same thing will keep happening.
