I have a 99 dodge caravan, I was wondering how the fuel flex worked?

We just bought the van. I was wondering if it was worth using the e85 and if i had to use it on an empty tank or not?

You can mix it with any gasoline. Your gas mileage will decrease. Check the price.

Check your mileage on unleaded with no ethanol, and calculate your cost per mile for gasoline.

Check your mileage on E85 and calculate your cost per mile.

I would almost bet E85 costs more than gasoline so it will not be a bargain. The only good thing about E85 is it burns really clean. But, will it keep your engine running cleaner and make it last long enough to be worth the extra cost?

My guess is, probably not. Until somebody comes up with a gasoline replacement that is more econmical, no one will buy it.

e-85 doesn't burn as good as regular as does and the mileage will decrease on it rather than increase.you,ll also notice a drop in power and performance,and you cant use it unless its marked on it that you can,believe me you wont save no money even though its a little cheaper you,ll pay for it in mileage loss,your better of using low grade regular than e-85.good luck.
