  1. yes they are the original Saddleseat horse.  all the other breeds that have saddleseat got it fro mthe saddlebred(tennessee Walkers, MFT,RMH, arabians)  all of these breeeds got saddleseat from saddlebreds so yeas they are excellent saddleseat horses.

  2. You didn't say what type of Saddlebred.  Three or Five Gaited?  Both are awesome in saddleseat classes.  I've known both and rode a three gaited for a few years but never had the chance to ride her saddleseat.  I did however get to ride a Tennessee Walker for a while saddleseat and boy those saddleseat riders have my admiration no matter what the breed!

I have a friend who used her big palomino 5 gaited SB in parades for years.  She rode him in the Rose Parade back in the 70's and wearing one of those HEAVY Ed Bohlin silver parade saddles, Tycoon looked so regal!   Matter of fact I sold the bit that went with that saddle a few years ago to a museum but I'll always think of Tycoon when I look back at the pictures of my old QH wearing the bit.

  3. depends on what ur planning on showing in...(3 gait-5 gait) i havent seen any other "breed" of horse in a saddleseat show..besides maybe a Morgan. but, yes, they are the saddleseat horses.

    (:

  4. American Saddlebred isn't really a breed just to let you know, its considered a breed but no one knows how it started as for your question, they are very good and they are not the only saddleseat bread. But yes usually they are good in it.

  5. they are THE saddleseat horse. they are what started saddleseat.. so my answer would be.. DUH.
