It's said to filter 300 gallon per hour. Sounds good to me!

  1. you really cant filter an aquarium to much lol

  2. Sounds good but it depends what type of fish you are going to get.

  3. There is a saying that you can never go wrong with over filteration, it's the under filteration you have to worry about.

  4. That's not over doing it, the more the better. It's recommended to filter your tank with a filter that is rated for twice the size of your tank. Filter manufacturers do not take into consideration heavy fish stocking which causes heavy bio loads, they rate their filters for a light fish stock.

  5. Considering when testing their filters, they do not test them with filter media in them, and don't test them with fish in the tank. The 300 gallons per hour is just an example of what the maximum water flow is without media and stuff. It is always a good idea to provide extra filtration above what size your tank is. I have an AC 70 on a 25 gallon aquarium, and it does a great job. So to answer your question, no it is not over doing it :)
