I have a Bachelor Communication, how can i become a preschool teacher?!?

Question

I have my bachelor in Communication but i really want to work with children. I want to be an preschool teacher or an elementary school teacher. I did search for days on the internet but i really cannt find what i have to do to become this..

So what do i have to do, what school etc?

Also another thing, im dutch so english is my second language, and i did my bachelor in The Netherlands, but i hope this doesnt matter?

Can someone of you please help me with this?

Preschool: major in Early Childhood education.

If you want to be a lead teacher go for a Bachelors degree at a university and if you just want to be an assistant or only teach at a day care go for 2 years at a community or technical college.  

Elementry: major in Elementry and go to school for a Bachelor's degree at a university.

what state do you live in? every state has it's own rules. Most states only require 2 or 3 classes in child develpment to be a teacher's assistant in a preschool. you should do this to try it out and see if you really want to be a pre-k teacher. i think only 2 states require a BA in child development to be a teacher, the rest of the states have lower standards and you can become a pre-k teacher with only 12 early childhood education (ECE) units. which is about 4 classes. In California you need 24 ECE units and 175 days of 3+ hours of experience to get a teacher's permit for pre-k. you can also take a look at this:

Everything is much different if you want to be an elementary school teacher but it also varies by state. in California you need to take the CBEST test. and you might have to take some classes to make your degree valid here. call a local college

Many schools actually are excited about having someone from another country come in and teach.  You are able to give the students a lot of information about a different culture and this is fantastic.
