I have a CAD condenser mic, a mixer, and the M-audio buddy preamp. How do I hook it up. no sound from mic?

I am having major problems hooking up my stand alone preamp to my mixer to power my condenser mic. I am using a 1/4 in to XLR adapter, but I am not getting any sound. The preamp is the M-audio buddy.

  1. A condensor mic requires a pre-amp with phantom power.

    Second answer is correct.  The mic may require an XLR to XLR cable in order to transfer the phantom power from the pre-amp to the mic.
