  1. take him to the vet in the morning

  2. It does appear to be some sort of allergic reaction.  Is he behaving normally?  Is he eating/drinking normally and his stools...are they normal or runny?  If he is acting normal in all these areas and if he is acting like his old regular self (not overly sleepy, lethargic) then give it 24 hours to see if it goes down.  If it doesn't or if it spreads or other things begin to happen (not eating/drinking, runny stools) or if he is having difficulty breathing...then take him to the vets asap.. My vet allows payments, so you can at least arrange something now so he can get help.

  3. That looks very much like a rodent ulcer (NOT caused by rodents, it's just what it's called).

Calm down, it's treatable.  It's an ulcer thing, caused by the cat's body.  The earlier it's caught the easier it's treated. Mine has had one in the past and it flared up twice but was able to be controlled quickly.

These show up on the lips, mouth, nose and sides of the face. Your vet needs to see the cat soon, I'd say get the cat in on Tuesday, since Monday is Labor day and they'd be closed.

If the cat is on medication or flea treatments, stop the treatments and call a vet to see if the medication can be stopped--a lot of rodent ulcers come on as a reaction to medications or flea bites.  Sometimes they're aggrivated by steroids.  Your vet will know exactly what to do for the cat to stop this.  Don't wait a full week to get the cat looked at, you should have him in on Tuesday soon as you can.

  4. Flea collars are useless.  Get advantage or frontline.  More expensive, but well worth it.  Take to vet and ask an expert.

  5. Has you cat been around other cats or been outside. To me it looks like an infection a cat can get when it has been in a fight with another cat. Otherwise it could be something like an allergic reaction ( watch to make sure the swelling doesn't get bigger) Another possibility though unlikely is that you cat has an abscessed tooth. IF by chance it is fleas than at home treatments wont get rid of them.Another possibilty is an ulcer. Defiantly call you vet in the morning and make an appointment. It should cost around a 100 dollars for the need tests and exam. Just make sure to keep an eye on you cat tonight, if things get worse look in the phone book for the nearest emergency vet and take him in. Oh and make sure he is eating if he doesn't eat for a couple days his body could start to shut down. Also make sure he is drinking, urinating and having normal bowel movements. These are all things your vet will want to know to. Hope your kitty feels better soon.

  6. I don't think it is from fleas.  it almost looks more like a bee sting reaction or something of that sort.  The trouble with any swelling in or around the mouth is the risk of the throat reacting and swelling as well.  You want to make sure his breathing is good and his airway seems clear.  The only way to be sure of what this is, is to see a vet.  I am sorry about your situation.

  7. Take him to a vet...no one here can help him so ask the vet if you can make payments once you start working.

  8. take him to the vet. :/

  9. maybe the fur came off there, a fight attack, ran into something many things, call the vet since you cant take him

  10. omg take him to the vet and becareful cuz it's contagious to humans

  11. It looks like alergies, Or either he got stung by a bee, or even bit by an ant. My cat had something simmilar to that, and i tok him to the vet and it turned out to be a fire ant bite

  12. hope ur kitty ok!!!!

  13. Cats do get pimples around that area, so that could be it. My cousin's cat once had an extremely red pimple that she had to put a warm damp cloth on to help with the swelling and pain. But this could very well be an infected flea bite. Don't freak out about it unless it gets worse. But go to the vet when you can. If you think it's an emergency, there are animal hospitals that are open all night that will take care of your cat. They would probably have payment plans where you don't have to pay right then and there. If he's not showing any signs of discomfort then I wouldn't be too worried.

    good luck!

  14. He may be allergic to something or it could be a flea bite.  If it does not go away take him to the vet.

  15. see a vet as soon as possible!!!!
