Maybe it is because I am not goosing it often or it is the oil mixed with the fuel or because fuel is regular unleaded or the type of plug. What would make it more of a trail bike

  1. Lugging (putt-putt-putt) the engine will foul spark plugs.

2 stroke motorcycles must be ridden in the top half of the engine's RPM range.

Type of plug or fuel will have nothing to do with fouling plugs.

  2. The CR will never be a trail bike and if you ride it as such you will foul plugs constantly. Never ever buy an 85 or 125 MX bike for trails. You can take it to the shop and have it re-jetted but that will only help a little. Those things are meant to be screamed. Riding at a casual pace just doesn't work...sorry. Try pulling in the clutch and holding the throttle wide open for a couple seconds as your riding on the trails. Do this fairly often and that will help some. Your best bet is to sell it and get the CRF150R instead.

  3. 2 strokes are made to be ridden like you stole them.....

if you ain't gonna do that, you might wanna consider trading it in for an actual trail bike (four stroke)... seriously, 2 strokes are not good idlers...

  4. Ryan, Make sure You are using the recommended plug for Your bike and the recommended fuel mixture. A dirty air filter will also cause your bike to run rich and foul plugs. If You live at a high altitude You may have to re jet Your carburetor because upper altitudes will also cause it to run rich and foul. Also if you lug the engine much this will do it too. The CR is a great bike and the engine is designed to be "goosed".  Happy trails... Kurt

  5. The main problem could be that you are riding with the choke up so you are only getting half the air in your engine, apart from lacking power it will also foul the spark plug too

Also, you could be running your petrol to rich, recommended oil to petrol ratio 40:1,

If your engine has a lot of muck then consult a dealer on different other unleaded fuel to run in your bike to clean it out

:: you want it to be more of a trail bike< There is a way, you can tune the carbi so powerband opens at much higher revvs so basically the end of the throttle, you will be able to go fast in through gears then have powerband as a sort of option

im not sure how its done but my bikes like that becuase the previous owner rode open trails

    gd luck
